It appears to me as if Sagrada and Rollplayer have a little less interaction and possibilities to annoy your opponent, but I did not have the chance to play them yet. Sagrada has additional mechanics that bring more twists into the game. Sagrada feels like a game I would introduce to non-gaming friends as something new and different. Component quality is excellent. Sagrada is mostly a very pretty solitaire. Azul has that extra challenge that I would test on my more experienced gaming friends. I recently played Azul and liked the mechanics.

Azul, with the variant on the back of the playing board offers a brand new challenge that I feel is much more difficult than anything Sagrada has to offer. Azul is FAR more interesting because of the player interaction. In Azul vs Sagrada theme, there is no clear winner. At first, Azul vs Sagrada may look similar because they both are about tile drafting and wall/window crafting.

In this game, you are an artisan who is tasked to construct a stained glass window for Spain’s Sagrada Familia. AZUL VS SAGRADA ANALYSIS Theme: Both are equal in regards to theme richness. However, Sagrada is actually quite different. Azul has one player board layout that everyone uses (though players can flip it over and use a blank board with a bunch of extra rules); Sagrada has a good variety of boards of varying difficulties. Azul has you in Portugal building up the palace with beautiful tiles and Sagrada has you around the same time, in an equally exotic place making beautiful stained glass composites from smaller pieces. Sagrada and Roll player seem fairly similar. Sagrada is fine but far more fiddly.

Azul is VERY easy to teach, super elegant design, and in the end more engaging during play. For what I am looking for in a game of this caliber (play it with anyone, but still fun for a gamer), Azul is the better game.
